Founded in 1981, EASA (European Architecture Students' Assembly) offers a unique framework for education and accommodates a non-institutionalised way of teaching, learning and exchange. It is organised and attended by students from across the globe who form a self-maintaining community of participants, tutors, organisers and helpers – we all work, study, rest, cook, eat, clean and live together: a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Although each event is different in its unique way, different generations of the Scottish team agree in having the same eye-opening experiences and feelings of enjoyment. Describing what EASA does to one is never easy to explain...
... but we can try to show you.
'Same differences,' is an exhibition curated by the EASA Scotland Alumni. We have come together to create a photographic timeline of some of our favourite yet contrasting EASA moments as part of the Scottish Team, and how they have R(E)volutionised our perspective on all things architecture.
Expect to see photographs ranging from a pavilion on a Danish beach, to students struggling to build a 100m long tent in the Swiss mountains, to best friends washing a car in Malta and friendly strangers having dinner on the Danube in Romania.
EASA Social Night
We will be hosting a wee Social Night on Friday 16th June (7pm - 9pm) for the opportunity to meet members of the Alumni, learn about their EASA experiences, and a chance to find out how to get involved with and support EASA Scotland.
