From Here is an insightful and provocative study into what forms the backdrop for the architecture of Scotland. From Here presents an opportunity for new architectural ideas to be tested and explored by emerging voices, all graduating since devolution, against the shifting political, cultural and social context of the country. These new voices each have an interest in building in relation to historical precedents and models whilst retaining a broad global perspective. Six provocations looking at the archetypal building block, the tenement, provide a platform for architectural exploration.
