About Dundee-Nablus Twinning Association

The twinning between Dundee and Nablus is a long-standing formal agreement between the City of Dundee and the Municipality of Nablus. Initiated in 1980 between the Lord Provost of Dundee and the Mayor of Nablus who hold the principal responsibility for this twinning which has been authorised and formalised by the City Council of Dundee and the Municipality of Nablus.

The Dundee-Nablus Twinning Association exists – at the invitation of the Lord Provost of Dundee – to assist in supporting this twinning relationship.

Encouraging friendship between people in the two cities, we help those in Dundee to understand more about the people of Nablus. A key element is to promote collaboration between people in each city on various projects, encouraging visits in both directions.

About Arts Workers for Palestine Dundee

A non-hierarchical voluntary group of artists and art-workers who have gathered to coordinate locally, standing with the people of Palestine at a time of immense horror. Aiming to energise and make visible support for Palestine in our community and in the arts through solidarity gatherings, screenings and study sessions. Education as resistance, across the cultural sector and beyond. Together, we urge the organisations and institutions we work with to commit to meaningful action towards Palestinian liberation.

As part of the Arts Workers for Palestine Scotland network, we continue to demand our city’s arts and cultural spaces and organisations break their silence on the atrocities inflicted on the people of Palestine. Taking a stance against genocide by making a public statement in solidarity with Palestine is the bare minimum urgently needed from our sector. We further call on local arts organisations to commit to concrete, meaningful action in support of Palestine, such as committing to the PACBI pledge to boycott complicit academic and cultural institutions and funding.
