OGODO is an experimental self-portrait that explores themes of rebirth and healing through the retelling of an Igbo creation story. The film brings to life the mystical drama of how the Hornbill became known as the Empress of the Sky, Okpoko Nwe Enu.

Weaving dance, the Nigerian filmmaker’s foremother’s body arts and cosmology as well as the Scottish landscape, OGODO is a celebration of the divine beauty of black women’s bodies and relationship to nature.
