Raising the Roof aka Adele Patrick, Sue John and Janice Parker are a small group of Scottish based creatives facing the real-life prospect of current Care Home culture. They are committed to generating a provocative alternative model that would solve their ethical, financial and aesthetic housing needs as they make the shift into living their older lives. Raising the Roof are actively asking how can support be mobilized that could make manifest homes that are, affordable, secure, of the highest quality and embody the changes we want to see in the world?
Drawing upon their expertise and lived experiences in design, self-build, change making, and creative inclusive practice you are invited to join us in Week 1 for conversations, questions and live-action research; and in Week 2 to for time to reflect and muse on the findings.
A warm welcome awaits.
HOME, AT LAST - EVENT:
Speaking from the heart Adele Patrick, Sue John & Janice Parker, aka Raising the Roof, will share their political and personal rationales behind their quest, desire and need to develop a new, better, model of housing as they begin the journey into living their older lives.
A direct response both to the personal situations they find themselves in and to the current housing, social care and economic landscape, their key question is “who can support us to make this happen?”
Join them for a provocative, bold and entertaining afternoon of conversation contributing to the development of a common-good, sustainable, high quality, affordable, green, collaborative model of housing.
