In a city that’s no stranger to demolition and reinvention, the ruin of Govan Graving Docks, which has lain derelict in Glasgow for 40 years, is a remnant of the past which has long escaped the city’s wrecking ball. Cherished as one of the few remaining sites which speaks of Glasgow’s heroic shipbuilding past, its regeneration is a complex process, demanding a new vision of use to benefit Govan’s community, while preserving Glasgow’s industrial heritage. This event looks at the past to host conversations about the docks’ future during a walk around the docks.
