Collaborative inclusive design - live practice

A chance to experience and understand the award winning Ramp House, with an exhibition that demonstrates the processes of inclusive collaborative design workshop with children and young people, of all divergences.

Thea Chambers, of Mind the Gap (formerly Design Director of Chambers McMillan Architects) will lead guided tours and discussions around the Ramp House, Portobello, her wheelchair accessible family home. As a leading practitioner in inclusive design, she will engage in discussions of how engaging in collaborative design with children and young people from the start of a design process leads to buildings where the users have agency and feel ownership, which leads to better ongoing use, and forming of inclusive communities within the built environment.

Tours dates: Saturday 7th, Thursday 12th, Saturday 14th, Thursday 19th June 2025
Tour times: 11:30, 13:30, 15:30 - no need to book, just turn up
