Designer Michael James Lewis presents a site-specific drawing installation at George Brown & Sons, Leith that places the language of architecture into dialogue with the deep, dynamic forces of the natural world. Through carefully constructed drawings, Lewis holds architectural grids, lines, and markers against the shifting, cyclical movements of geological processes.

The work sustains the tension between these two systems: the human desire for rigid order and control, and the Earth's resistance to such fixity across deep time. Buildings change, markers erode, and structures shift, revealing the provisional nature of what we often imagine to be permanent.

This installation explores reciprocity not as harmony, but as an ongoing negotiation between natural change and human frameworks.
