Developed for Architecture Fringe 2025 and set within the George Brown & Sons building, a former steel fabrication warehouse in Leith, this project brings together musicians and visual artists in a collaborative, site-specific response to the space.
Using the building’s physical dimensions, acoustics, and industrial history, a shared score will be created as a starting point—acting as a framework for interpretation rather than prescription. Each artist will respond to the space in their own way to explore its atmosphere and memory.
These individual works are then brought together, welded into a shared sound piece that reflects the structure of the site and the collective nature of the project.
The work will culminate in a film to be shown within the factory space—showcasing how artists have interpreted the site through shared making.
