Makers Exchange is a nomadic workshop that will move around Glasgow, offering a space with tools where people can come together to get making. Setting up in different shared spaces across Glasgow, it is a spontaneous making exchange, where anyone is encouraged to join in, share their skills and learn from one another.
We will be trundling our way along different routes around the city on select days during the fringe, inviting people to use the workshop to fix furniture, scavenge the streets for materials and make public space infrastructure.
The event seeks to provoke discussion on the potential of shared urban space to be more active in hosting collaboration and exchange, and our ability to appropriate it to this end.
Keep an eye on @glasgowmakersexchange on Instagram to stay tuned to our movements and come and say hi!
Makers Exchange is organised by Joris Caldow and Isaac Stanesby, who share an interest in finding new perspectives on design and the city, learning through experimenting.
