Glasgow is a city of innovation. We have an opportunity to creatively reimagine our built heritage, to adapt our buildings facing the threat of neglect and underuse before they are gone forever. Many buildings have been lost over time, making the need to keep those that remain even more important.
The conversation is not new and is one many have been shouting about for years. It’s time for us to give back to our city and allow our buildings to host us for 100 years more.
Join architectural practice Corstorphine & Wright for a cross-disciplinary panel to continue this conversation, bringing together those who collectively want to shape a bright and resilient future for Glasgow.
The conversation will explore practical strategies for repopulating the city, breathing new life into iconic buildings, and driving investment back into Glasgow’s urban landscape. Together, we can shape a vision that integrates the old with the new, ensuring these cherished structures continue to enrich the city for generations to come.
Chaired by Corstorphine & Wright Director David McGowan, the panel on the night will include:
- Sarah Shaw: Head of Planning at Glasgow City Council
- Jana Bartschova: Associate in Conservation, Arts & Culture at Turner Townsend, and Trustee of the Glasgow Building Preservation Trust
- Grant McAllister: Founder of Past Glasgow
Entry is free, but seats are limited so please sign up on Eventbrite to secure your place. The conversation will be recorded and will be available for viewing afterwards.
